Grandson Knox was excited [to say the least] to go to the Putnam County Fair. He rode the rides made for his size, and he even rode the big Ferris wheel [the single not the double] once with his mom and once with his grandpa. We sat in the grandstand and watched a monster truck fly over a row of cars [a first for us ~ it was insanely loud but pretty cool to see]. He rode the merry go round with Grandpa and then, for the first time ever, rode it all by himself and lived to tell the tale. He fished for a prize, caught a bunch, and picked out a frog. We didn't go in to see the 'amazing animals' although they did have a five-legged goat on display. His most favorite ride was the giant slide. He climbed all the way to the top and swooshed down all by himself three times. He would have done it a thousand times more, but the adults were pooped and ready to go home at nine o'clock. The fair was loud and colorful and more fun than human beings should be allowed to have. And that awesome sunset was just icing on the funnel cake. Scroll down for some snapshots of our time at the fair.
