Daughter Kelly was a baby last time Neil and I came here
along with my brother and sisters way back in 1977
Nowadays you have to make a reservation with park rangers
to hike down into the gorge
where we stopped to admire the colorful scenery
Running into this was unexpected
so we had to explore
Someone lived here a long long time ago
Unlike the rest of the gang, I opted to view the inside from the outside
On our way out, we noted license plates on cars from states all over the country
I think Oregon was the farthest from home

Neil was surprised to find a red Maple leaf with a heart-shaped hole
Not my first time seeing such a thing,
but I did take its picture and pressed it in a book
Ella’s class at school enjoyed a Halloween party today
She was thrilled with all the candy she found in her trick or treat bag
Our grandson Elijah is working at a local McDonald’s
He took our order this afternoon
