Mother's Day treat -- lunch at Outback
Me and my peeps -- left to right: Kelly, Knox, Neil, moi, Jerry, Holly, Shelby, and Elijah -- Kerry couldn't join us because of work
Daughter Holly, granddaughter Shelby, grandson Elijah
Daughter Kelly and grandson Knox
Blessed with the best daughters on the planet
My daughters and hubby surprised me (can you tell by the look on my face?) with a new iPad Pro
And they always manage to make me cry (happy tears) because they always give me the sweetest most loving mommy's day cards
We always get silly because we can't help ourselves -- today we were marveling at just how tall Holly is and not only because she was wearing high heels
The only thing that makes me sad with regret this day is not having a picture made with my grandchildren and daughters all together -- how did that happen?! It's a terrible first
My daughters both have a great sense of humor and know how to make fun of themselves (and everybody else -- tee hee) I do adore them and I'm so thankful for the blessing that they've always been to me -- I couldn't have asked God for more awesome children and that's the mom's honest truth.
They are fabulous mothers to their children, and I'm thankful for that, too. Wishing you both Happy Mother's Day! So glad you are mine!
My mom passed away two weeks before Mother's Day five years ago. Missing her especially today.
“A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”

“No one is ever quite ready; everyone is always caught off guard. Parenthood chooses you. And you open your eyes, look at what you've got, say "Oh, my gosh," and recognize that of all the balls there ever were, this is the one you should not drop. It's not a question of choice.”

“But kids don't stay with you if you do it right. It's the one job where, the better you are, the more surely you won't be needed in the long run.”
