“Don't wait until it's too late to tell someone how much you love, how much you care.”

Neil and I don’t “do” Valentine’s Day. We decided to eliminate this stress from our lives years ago. Those heart-shaped boxes of chocolates, dozens of roses, poetic Hallmark cards and dinners at nice restaurants ~ it’s all good. But if you truly love somebody, tell them every day. Show them every day. Every single day. This evening, we sat by the window in a mostly empty Mickey D’s (one other couple in there ~ older than us and we’re pretty old) just talking about stuff, enjoying our burgers and fries, as we watched the Valentine’s Day traffic jam on Jefferson Avenue. We were lovin’ it.
Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy heart day, Kelly!! :)
Delete:) We don't "do" Valentine's Day either, but I still enjoy giving a card & chocolate! I get Don a dark chocolate bar every year (and a funny card) & I give the girls some chocolates, too. I really feel sorry for some guys this time of year!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great tradition. I think if anything like that is done with love and not in some sort of panic stricken, obligatory way, then I'm all for it. Especially if it's fun. I do feel sorry for the guys this time of year, too! And I felt sorry for all those couples who were trying to celebrate in a crowded restaurant. Ack! To me, that's not fun at all. Happy heart day, Jane!!
