Our backyard Easter egg hunt is one of my favorite traditions

Even the adult kids join in the hunt. There are prize eggs to be found, and Neil goes out

of his way to make them extra hard to find. This year, Sarah made little Easter boxes

filled with goodies for the old folks to find. Revenge is sweet.

Kerry helped Neil move the tub out of the bathroom this afternoon and flip it over for painting

The dark green matched the wallpaper that hung on the wall for nearly 30 years

New vinyl flooring installed tomorrow if all goes as planned

He’s busy plumbing now (not his favorite sport)

I think the plot was hatched at lunch today. My granddaughter Shelby has always wanted to add a streak or two of color to her long hair. Shake things up. Try something new. They were talking about it during lunch today. My daughter Kelly, Shelby’s aunt, said I’ll help you do it! Since school starts up again at the end of July and they don’t allow students to have unusual colors of hair, Shelby decided she only wanted the tips of her hair colored in case she needed to have the color cut off.

They bought a hair color kit. She chose raspberry, but Kelly had to bleach Shelby’s hair first before she could apply the color—an important part of the process.

It took some time, but they finally got the results Shelby wanted. She ended up with blond tips.


Did she like it? Oh yeah. She loved the blond so much that she decided to save the raspberry color for a later date.

Nice job, Kelly!

It’s fun to shake things up every now and then. Shelby is beautiful, inside and out, no matter the color of her hair.

Daughter Kelly and Grandson Knox stopped by the house this afternoon and invited Neil and me to go for a walk/ride around the block. Knox is saying, “Where’s Grandpa?” Grandpa was on the other side of Knox’s sweet ride.

The wind was a little chilly, but who cares when it’s 50 degrees with lots of blue sky and warm sunshine, making it an awesome day to be outside.

The weather folks say we’ll be warming up quite a bit this week. Won’t that be nice!

Clouded up later this afternoon. Bummer. You’ve got to grab that blue sky while you can get it. Have a wonderful week, everyone!
