“Welcome sweet November, the season of senses and my favorite month of all.” ~Gregory F. Lenz

November 1
Traveled an hour back in time
29 clocks in my house <that's not a typo>
I keep hoping the powers that be will pick one-
DST or Standard Time -and let it stick
Mulching leaves
November 3
My daughter Holly snapped this awesome
photo of her daughter Shelby and her dad Neil
walking in Cane Creek Park
While everyone was walking in the park
I was having my shoulder x-rayed and getting
a cortisone shot ~ sooo not a walk in the park
That's not my x-ray, by the way
November 4
Driving Miss Ella
November 5
Turkey time in Tennessee
Fall is my favorite
I love everything about it
I didn't host Thanksgiving this year
but I decorated anyway
November 6
November 7
Peppa Pig is her favorite right now
Oink!
November 8
She stands
In tattered gold
Tossing bits of amber
And jade, jewels of a year grown old:
November.
~Zephyr Ware Tarver (1886–1974)

November 10
Found this huge Oak leaf at the end of our street
Must have migrated to our neck of the woods
There aren't any Oak trees in our neighborhood
that produce this size Oak leaf
I'd never seen one so large
Finally found my big bag of gourds in the deepest
darkest corner of the attic where they've
been hiding for years

November 10
After school with grand peeps and Kerry
Shelby and Ella making leaf showers

“In November, the trees are standing all sticks and bones.
Without their leaves, how lovely they are, spreading their arms like dancers.
They know it is time to be still.”
― Cynthia Rylant, In November

November 1 1
Shootin'
November 12
Daughter Kelly celebrated her 44th
44 is the new 22
November 13
We went for a walk
Ella wanted to "drive" her car
But on the way back she took off her shoes
and wanted to walk
while collecting an Autumn leaf bouquet on the way
November 14
Knox and Ella had the best time jumping
in our neighbor's huge pile of leaves
A first for both of them
November 16
Elijah is enjoying his culinary class this year
We got to sample the doughnuts he made
Delicious!
Jammy day in Knox's class
November 20
Racing around on the trampoline
Ready or not, here I come!

November 21
Fortnite
November 24
Got to get those pumpkin cream cheese
before they're gone
November 25
Knox carefully placed his brick
on top of this precarious pile and stepped away ....
.... but gravity had other ideas
November 26
Thanksgiving
My sister Jane and her hubby Don hosted
Holly snagged a turkey leg ~ her fave
Jane is the hostess with the mostest
Everything was perfect
The ladies' table
Kelly, Holly, Sarah, Shelby, and Julia
The guys' table
Kerry, Elijah, and Jerry
The Seniors' Table
Ann, moi, Jane, and Don
The food was delicious
Smoked turkey from our cousin Caroline's BBQ restaurant
Ann made cornbread dressing (our mom's recipe)
Don made the gravy
Sarah made mashed potatoes
Jane made sweet potato casserole and sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top (just like our mom's)
Holly made broccoli casserole and stuffed eggs
Kelly made fruit salad
I made garlic cheese grit casserole
And it wouldn't be a turkey dinner without cranberry sauce
So good! We all stuffed ourselves and then some.
Ate too much
Me and my sisters
Front row from left: Kelly, Holly, Ella, Shelby, Julia, Knox
Middle row from left: Ann, Jane, Elijah, Neil, moi, Sarah
Back row from left: Jerry peaking out from behind Don, Terry, and Kerry
Annual turkey day kickball game

Race for the base
Jane made pumpkin pie
Kelly brought a pecan pie from Cracker Barrel
Holly made a Butterfinger cake
All so yummy!
Ella just wanted the whipped cream
And the candy corn
Don built a fire in the fire pit where we warmed
our toes in the chilly night
Thanks for hosting, Don and Jane!
We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving
November 28
Saturday brunch at Grandma's Pancake House
And there were pancakes, of course
Neil said, "I gotta get a picture of you with
the Thanksgiving decorations, and you
have to put it on your blog."
So here ya go
He also insisted we get a selfie in front of the
Thanksgiving decorations and that it should
be put on the blog
So we did and here it is
And we both have pilgrims growing out
the top of our heads
<par for the course for me>
November 29
Turkeys back in the box
Christmas tree out of the box
Too bad it doesn't come
out of the box
 like this
Planning out the Christmas village
Instead of setting out nutcrackers
or Santas this year
we decided to set up our Christmas village
First time since I can't remember when
November 30
The weather prognosticators got it right
1 to 3 inches for our town
Autumn is still hanging on
Three weeks until first day of winter
Love watching snow fall
The flakes were big
At least 2 inches of snow at 6 PM

November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.
With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.
The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.
~Elizabeth Coatsworth (1893–1986)
