PLAY BALL!

Grandson Knox and his team played their first T Ball game of the season tonight.
His team was first to bat

Knox is easy to spot in his white helmet. Watching these teams fielding is fun and funny and always chaotic.

Knox played first base toward the end of the game. His team lost this one by four runs I think. Good game and they all played well and seemed to enjoy it. Lots more games ahead.

KNOX'S FIRST PEE WEE T BALL GAME

Grandson Knox was very excited to finally play his very first T Ball game in the Algood Youth Baseball League, Pee Wee Division. His team is the Boston Red Sox. They played the Braves.
Knox at bat
Racing to first base
Coming down the stretch from third base to home plate
Score! Actually, I don't think they keep score. Knox got three runs.
He did very well in fielding the ball
Running the ball to first base
Good sportsmanship. Knox was tired after it was over but he had a great time playing his first game.  Both teams played a good game. Go Red Sox!

SPRING TRAINING

Grandson Knox will be playing Pee Wee T Ball this season, his first time on the diamond. Practice starts next week.
Grandpa gave him some batting lessons this afternoon. It's important to have the right stance.
Grandson Elijah gave his cousin Knox pointers on how to hold the bat. Elijah is an old pro, playing since he was about five.
Line those feet up next to the plate and angle your body just so
 Swing straight and not down
I think he's got it! Knox says when he plays, he'll hit a home run. Can't wait to see it.
Grandpa gave Elijah some pitching tips ~ he should have played in the major leagues (or maybe kid's pitch?)
Happy dancing because it's almost spring and they'll be out on the ball field soon.
Happy TGIF, everyone! Happy Dance!
