March 1 ~ granddaughter Ella Rose kicking those little legs, making her toys shake, rattle, and roll
March 3 ~ More rain. Still cold.
March 3 ~ North wind. March living up to its reputation
March 6 ~ The view from the changing table
March 6 ~ Restaurant Row with an awesome sunset playing in the background on a Wednesday evening
March 6 ~ Two of our cousins from Texas who were driving across Tennessee dropped in to visit us at church after Wednesday night Bible class ~ a rare occasion these days, so a group shot was a must. From left: Neil, me, Knox, our Texas cousins Wayne and Merritt Seely there in the middle, Jane, Don, and Ken. What a treat to get to visit even for a short time!
March 7 ~ We're always bummed when this happens. Our fave Thai food restaurant closes a couple of times a year so they can visit family in Thailand. It's been said about Ocha, and rightly so, that it's the only business that can close for two months at a time, reopen, and pick up right where it left off.
March 10 ~ Heads bowed down in submission to the four nights straight of below freezing temps ~ March weather is crazy
March 11 ~ It's that time of year ~ Neil, Kerry, and Knox in the backyard after school, pitching a baseball. Knox is signed up for coaches pitch again this year.
March 12 ~ Tiny pink roses left over from my birthday bouquet, drying nicely and still colorful
March 14 ~ Pi is the number you get if you divide the circumference of any circle by its diameter. It's the same for all circles. Pi is what mathematicians call an "infinite decimal" — after the decimal point, the digits go on forever and ever. When starting off in math, students are introduced to pi as a value of 3.14 or 3.14159. (Don't say I never taught ya nothin')
March 14 (or 3.14) is also a handy excuse to eat pie ~ not that we need an excuse.

March 15 ~ Knox went fishin' with his grandpa and pulled this one in, plus several others. Catch and release
March 15 ~ The T shirt says it all ~ Kindergarten will be here before you can blink.
March 16 ~ Lunch at Steak n Shake with grand peeps Shelby and Elijah ~ always fun ~ they had spent the night with us, and we watched a scary movie (The Ring)
March 16 ~ Look who can roll over now
March 17 ~ Shelby pitching some grounders to Knox out in the back yard on a Sunday afternoon
So far, all the grands have played baseball ~ it'll be interesting to see if Ella will want to play

March 17 ~ Look who tasted carrots for the first time (and liked them)

March 20 ~ Elijah and Knox have rediscovered the joy of jumping and flipping on the trampoline.

It's a spectator sport for some (most) of us

"The air is like a butterfly
With frail blue wings.
The happy earth looks at the sky
And sings." ~Joyce Kilmer, Spring

March 23 ~ Neil, Holly, Elijah, Shelby, and Knox did a little fishing at Cane Creek Park ~
'little' being the key word here

Elijah is a good instructor

And Knox is a fast learner

He's getting pretty good at the flipping thing

March 30 ~ Neil replaced some topsoil in the front yard in hopes of getting something to grow there besides crab grass ~ The struggle is real ~ We may have to resort to artificial turf
Not really but it's a thought

March 30 ~ Everything is blooming ~ love the yellow pop of color ~ wish we had more forsythia in the yard

March 30 ~ Redbud

March 30 ~ Neil planted several calla lilies in the back yard ~ there's a freeze warning here for Sunday ~ hope all these beautiful blooms survive

March 30 ~ Crab Apple

March 30 ~ our red maple is showing signs of life

March 31 ~ Here's the church and here's the steeple. Open the door and there's all the people.

March 31 ~ Sunday lunch bunch
The good times fly by really fast. Why is that?
“Joy is not in things; it is in us.”
